As you know by now, the motor is a 502/502 crate motor. I put roller rockers on it and a Crane ignition system with an MSD Distributor. No other mods were done. I used a March Serpintine Pully System. Hooker Super Comp headers that are made for g-body big block cars were installed. I used a three core radiator with a Spahl electric fan. It runs around 190 degrees all day long. I have three inch pipes into flowmaster mufflers with 2 1/2 pipes out. I stayed with the 200 4r transmition because it was easier and because they can be made fairly bullet proof. I used a local trans shop to do mine. Art Carr guarentees his 200 4r transmitions to 600 HP.. The rear is from a 1970 Chevelle. It has an Eaton Carrier with KA axels. The tubes are welded and c-clip eliminators installed. I stayed with the 373 gears.. I used Just Suspension upper and lower control arms to connect the rear.
The car was lowered with Bell Tech drop spindles and springs. The wheels are Centerline Telstars. I used 15x7 in the front and 15x8 wih 4 inch back spacing in the rear. The tires in front are 245-60's and the rears are 275-50's.
I've had the car down the quarter four times. The best ET was 11.88 at 116 MPH. I used BF Goodrich Drag Radials. The carb has not been tuned nor have I spent anytime with the timing. (advance, total timing, etc). I'm sure with some time doing some fine tuning, chassis adjustment, tire pressure, etc, I could get a few more tenths out of it. But that is not why I built it. I wanted a dependable street car with all the luxurys that could cruise at 75 MPH with the air on and the system blasting, but could kick some ass if it had to. I got what I wanted and more.
